Sensuality or sexuality?
Society, April 9, 2008
In tango, as well as other dances, is often associated the word "sensuality", due to the misleading images such as shoes or a network strusciare low against the belly of the woman (for example in the Caribbean dance). I asked myself many times if it is not a typing error that leads to write "sensuality" instead of "sexuality", in my view, very different things. Sensuality can be expressed through a gesture just mentioned, a timid glance, a smile, a slight movement to change the hug, perceptible only to those who are inside the ball.

It 'very interesting and share your observation, Roberta.
In fact, much, too often the two terms are often confused, as if they were thinking sinonimi.E not even have the same etymology.
Sexuality is from the Latin "sectere" which means divide. It refers to the masculine and feminine gender, clearly visible, and the reproduction of the species.
Sensuality, however, comes from the verb "feel."
The first term in relation specifically genitality, the second is related to feelings that tend to establish, precisely, to "listen" to the other.
Unfortunately, the context in which we live, often sessuofobico and some 'bigoted, tends to regard sex every moment of encounter of people .. it is easy to wind up as sex also made a time of great emotional as the tango.
Probably because there is very little "listening "!;-)
